SIGNS Restaurant Inc. is an upscale full-service restaurant and bar. The cuisine is contemporary with vegetarian and vegan options. Staffed entirely by Deaf waiters and bartenders, SIGNS Restaurant Inc. introduces guests to American Sign Language (ASL) with a menu that features easy-to-follow translation for every salad, appetizer, entrée, dessert and drink.
Provide employment to the Deaf community in mainstream commercial business – Close to 100% of the Deaf community in Toronto are unemployed or underemployed, most are paid through ODSP or by working in NGOs. SIGNS Restaurant Inc. has proven that the Deaf people are capable of working in mainstream commercial establishments and contributing to the economy without depending upon ODSP or NGOs for their livelihood. As SIGNS Restaurant Inc. expands, there will be further employment opportunities for the Deaf community.
Expansion – SIGNS Restaurant Inc. has the potential to expand to other parts of Canada and also globally, particularly in the US.
Establish a training set-up for the Deaf Community – SIGNS Restaurant Inc. has a vision to set up a Hospitality Training Centre for the Deaf Community, with on-the-job training facilities. This will enable Deaf community to get trained in various aspects of hospitality and to give them capability to work either with SIGNS Restaurant Inc. or with other companies.

Aided by the menu’s handy cheat sheet, guests use their hands to order boats of upscale poutine, plates of gnocchi chicken jerk pasta, and plates of vegetarian jumbo ravioli. SIGNS Restaurant Inc. is North America’s first of its kind restaurant, where guests enjoy exceptional food, extraordinary service, an unforgettable learning experience and showcases Canadian principles of all-inclusiveness and diversity at the workplace. Located at 558 Yonge Street, Toronto (Intersection of Yonge and Wellesley), the restaurant has a seating capacity of 150, divided between the bar and dining. The ambiance is exquisite ideally suited for spending a quiet and relaxed evening.
